Opportunities to Give
YMCA Board of Directors
Serving on the YMCA Board of Directors requires a significant time commitment supported by a dedication to the charity’s mission and mandate. “With monthly Board meetings augmented by extra committee work, our Board members are kept very busy, says Amanda Alexander, CEO. “Each Board member brings a unique skill set to the governance of the organization as well as a pledge to support the YMCA financially.“
Currently, thirteen volunteers serve on the Board of Directors and represent sectors such as finance, social services and more. These individuals support the operations of the YMCA with critically important expertise as well as committing to making a financial donation in keeping with the 100% Board giving policy. “Why would I volunteer for a charity I don’t support financially,” asks Bruce Siddall, one of the newest YMCA Board members. “100% Board giving makes sense and demonstrates to other funders and donors how committed YMCA Board members are to the charity’s mission.”
