Physical Literacy and the YMCA

The YMCA of Northern BC understands the impact that physical literacy has on a child's development and their ability to grow into active, healthy adults.  All YMCA recreational programs are aligned with the Canadian Sport for Life Long-Term Athlete Development framework.

Kid Fit - Homeschool (6-9)

Kid Fit is a fast paced, super active program for kids on the go! Through relay races, obstacle courses and boot camp style circuits kids will work up a sweat while learning about health and wellness

Other Youth Programs

Family Aikido (6-12 years)

Aikido is a wonderful martial art for children aged 6 to 12.  It is a non-violent, non-competitive self-defense system which focuses on harmonious body movement and balance control through physical connection.  Children learn respect for themselves and their classmates, as well as self-discipline and confidence. This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy an activity together.
