Before and After School Care, Non Instructional Days and School Break Care
The Healthy Child Development curriculum integrates an asset development approach to provide school age children positive experiences, support and opportunities that reflect their growing independence. Our values-based programs provide parents with the care their children need in the mornings before school and after school until the end of their workdays.
Children and youth enjoy a wide variety of activities including arts and crafts, science, fitness, reading, community involvement and much more. Each child gets the chance to go outside and play everyday. A Transportation Program is available.
Prices do NOT reflect care for Non Instructional Days, report writing days or other school holidays.
To register or arrange a tour, please contact the Coordinator of Child Care Administration at 250-562-9341 x 109 or contact her via e-mail at: corrine.hemeryck(at)nbcy.org

In an effort to meet the needs of the families in our community, we are introducing ‘Your Choice Child Care’!
We understand that not all families need full-time child care, so we have created our ‘Your Choice Child Care’ where you have the ability to choose and pay for ONLY the days of the month that you need care!
Parents pre-book their child care days, with a minimum of 24 hours notice and up to one month in advance, for only the days they need care, whether it only be a couple of days or a couple of weeks.
Only $20.00 per day with transportation available (first come, first serve) for an additional $7.00 charge.
To use our YMCA Your Choice Child Care:
1. Children must be registered with the YMCA and have child’s information on file.
2. Children must be registered with a minimum 24 hours notice and up to one calendar month notice to reserve space.
School Age: Y Citizens
Register now for Y Citizens.. an After School Care program for kids 10 - 12 that will keep them safe, out of trouble and busy while they make friends, have fun and develop their leadership and planning skills. YMCA staff will guide the children as they create activities in areas of nutrition, fitness, culture, community service and more.
The YMCA of Northern BC’s After School Care Transportation Program helps parents get their children between school and their YMCA After School Care program location.
The Transportation Program serves the following schools:
Transportation is only available for children registered in a YMCA After School Care program. Space is limited.
The Transportation program runs according to regular School District #57 dismissal times. Parents/guardians are responsible for making advance arrangements (at least one week) with the Y for any irregular dismissal times (i.e. report card days). The YMCA will make accommodations when possible. The YMCA does not provide refunds for irregular dismissal days.
Transportation Service: $79.00/month
